In
order to maintain the system in your vehicle to peak efficiency
the system will require servicing once per year.
Part of the system is a Receiver Drier, which has the following
functions:
To filter out any impurities and therefore protect the compressor.
It contains desiccant to absorb the small amounts of moisture that
are
present within the system.
A reservoir for excess liquid refrigerant. After a period of time/use
the
filter cannot perform the above functions as efficiently. Therefore
servicing becomes necessary not only to maintain optimum performance
but also to spot any potential problems before they occur.
An air-conditioning service takes approximately 3 hours and consists
of the following:

pressures and vent Temperature prior to servicing |
| Check
all controls including air distribution |
| Analyse
Gas De-Pressurise System Measure amount recovered |
| Replace
filter drier and O rings |
| Add correct
type of oil back to system |
| Visual
check of condenser (clean with compressed air) |
| Visual
check of all hosing (routing and condition) |
| Visual
check of compressor and mount brackets for security of fitting |
| Visual
check of compressor drive belt tension/condition |
| Evacuate
and recharge system |
| Check vent
temperature and pressures |
| Check condenser
fan operation |
| Check all
electrics and controls |

Check
drain tube
|
| Apply anti
bacterial evaporator treatment |
